DINO of SEVENTEEN is one day away from the next chapter of his alter-ego experiment. According to the release schedule announced by Pledis Entertainment, “미쳐 미쳐” (Michyeo Michyeo, roughly “Going Crazy”), the second pre-release single from his street-producer persona Picheolin (피철인), arrives Wednesday, July 22 at 6 p.m. KST (5 a.m. ET) with a full music video — with the video teaser slated for today, July 21. Both lead into Picheolin’s first mini album, 吉BOARD, due August 3.

What is the Picheolin project?

Picheolin is a full-fledged alter ego created by DINO, SEVENTEEN’s performance ace, who wrote and composed the project’s music himself. Pledis, which first announced the album on May 11, describes the character as a “street producer” who reinterprets the street-music culture of 1990s Korea across genres — a concept the label sums up as well-made, deliberately lo-fi “B-grade” sensibility delivered with polish.

The album title itself is a wink at that era: “gilboard” (길보드) was the tongue-in-cheek Korean nickname for the informal “street charts” driven by sidewalk cassette-tape vendors in the late ’80s and ’90s — a pun on Billboard, here written with the Chinese character 吉, meaning “lucky.”

A rollout built like a variety show

The project kicked off on July 15 at 6 p.m. KST with the first pre-release single, “아프지 않은 이별은 없다” (“Love Sick”), a city-pop breakup track that features narration by Lee Moon-sae — the legendary Korean balladeer lending a radio-DJ-style spoken interlude. Its music video was released through HYBE’s official YouTube channel.

From there, the schedule runs: track list (July 20), “Michyeo Michyeo” MV teaser (July 21), the single and full MV (July 22, 6 p.m. KST), title-track MV teasers (August 1–2), and the album with its title track and music video on August 3.

Fan concert in August

The persona play extends offline: the “DINO X PICHEOLIN FAN CONCERT” is set for August 21–23, billed around the interplay between DINO himself and his alter ego. Pledis said it hopes Picheolin “naturally permeates people’s daily lives” and turns everyday routines “into exciting rhythm.”

Why it matters

Solo outings from SEVENTEEN members have so far leaned toward official solo debuts and mixtapes; a fully realized character project — complete with its own name, backstory, narration guest, and fan concert — is a first for the group. It also lands in a packed release window for HYBE and for K-pop’s summer season overall, giving CARATs a steady drip of content through early August.
